Overcoming a pair of two-touchdown deficits, North Branch battled back to within one score and a shot to even things up, but Caro’s defense held up to produce a 34-26 loss for the Broncos.

North Branch started off by taking the opening kickoff downfield, but fumbled the ball away. Caro would capitalize to take a 7-0 lead, which the Broncos answered to draw even. Caro capped off the first quarter by grabbing the lead back, 14-7.

North Branch drove back down the field to respond yet again, but a missed extra point left the Broncos trailing by one, 14-13. The Tigers would then ramp up the offense a bit, scoring twice to take a 27-13 lead into the half.

The Broncos answered again to make it 27-19 after a missed PAT, but Caro’s next touchdown made it 24-19. That’s when North Branch got really close to its first win of the season. The Broncos would score to narrow it to 34-26, and even recovered the onside kick.

North Branch began to drive, gaining a few first downs in the process, but ultimately, the offense was stopped by the Tigers.

Individual stats and other game details were not provided by head coach Jeremy Ferman.

North Branch, now 0-3, hosts Millington on Friday.
