MARLETTE — The Marlette Police Dept. is investigating the apparent heroin overdose of a couple on Lamotte Street on Sept. 2.

Marlette Police were dispatched around 4 p.m. that Saturday afternoon to the 3100 block of Lamotte Street.

Officer Chris Braegger arrived to find a 25-year-old woman unresponsive and not breathing. The police officer began rescue breathing and administered Narcan, a medication used to block the effects of opioid drugs that give users extreme euphoria.

Police said the female started breathing again and was transported to Marlette Regional Hospital and later transferred out.

A 26-year-old male seeking treatment for a suspected overdose was also taken to Marlette Region Hospital by private vehicle.
